Fearless Soul

Through this journey in the M.Ed. Applied Digital Learning program, I've had a growth mindset towards the principles of the ADL framework and the course's goals, which have been instrumental in shaping me into a digital learner and leader. Self-directed learning has been at the forefront of this path, empowering me to have COVA over my learning journey. I have explored diverse resources and have adapted to the change of digital learning. This has instilled in me a sense of autonomy and accountability which are crucial traits for creating positive change.

Creating an innovation plan has helped empower me with the knowledge to become a better leader. This process has also equipped me with the skills to drive positive change in my organization. My innovation plan provides strategies for using technology to improve student engagement and create meaningful learning experiences. Throughout the program, I have gained knowledge on how to create professional learning for my colleagues to promote my innovation plan further in my organization.

Developing an organizational change strategy has been crucial in my growth as a digital leader. I've learned how to manage resistance and challenges. I have also learned how to use strategies to increase learner engagement and retention of knowledge. In the world of change, starting with the "why" can encourage transformation to take place. By connecting with personal feelings and creating a sense of urgency, leaders can build real motivation for change. The Six Sources of Influence can be used as valuable tools, including personal and social motivation and ability, as well as structural motivation and ability. The 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX) encourage focusing on a few important goals, tracking leading indicators and regularly updating progress, all while using Key Questions to guide meetings. Effective communication is essential, whether it's clarifying expectations, dealing with resistance, or aligning stakeholders. The concepts of self-differentiated leadership and crucial conversations are important, with a balanced approach being ideal for the best results. These principles together form a comprehensive approach to driving change and achieving success in different situations.

Creating significant learning environments has been a central focus. I have strived to create learning environments that inspire curiosity and collaboration and promote deeper learning. In creating a graphic design course for high school learners, I've focused on making learning real and practical. Following a plan based on Fink's ideas and creating a 3 column table, starting with a Big Hairy Audacious Goal, I've organized the course to be engaging and centered on student learning. Utilizing backward design methods, I've developed courses and programs that prioritize learner engagement. By starting with the end goals, teachers can make sure that the tests and activities they use in class match what they're trying to teach. Increasing mastery of content, and meaningful assessment practices. I have learned measurement strategies that have enabled me to evaluate the effectiveness of my interventions, change based on feedback, and drive continuous improvement in digital learning outcomes.

Through this program, I have gained insight into the Action Research method, which has guided me to create effective research questions and measurement strategies that enhance learning outcomes. By using both qualitative and quantitative research I will be able to provide a more complete understanding of the impact of ePortfolios being used in educational settings. This can create a well-informed assessment strategy that considers the subjective experiences of students and educators along with objective, measurable outcomes. Embracing online and blended learning environments has expanded my knowledge and enriched my collaborative skills in online environments. Whether through online or in-person, I've learned diverse ways to articulate my ideas, share insights, and showcase my growth as a digital learner and leader.

Establishing a personal learning network has been invaluable, providing me with a supportive community of peers who challenge and inspire me to push the boundaries of my learning journey. Being part of a collaborative group during the course of this program has proven instrumental in my progress throughout but especially during this session. This last term has been especially tough. But through this, my collaborative group has offered invaluable support and friendships. Without them, the journey would definitely have been more challenging!

As I reflect on my accomplishments in the ADL program thus far, I am proud of the growth I've made. I am developing into a proficient digital learner and leader. With a plan rooted in innovation, organizational change, and pedagogical excellence, I am ready to promote innovation, create significant learning environments, and lead impactful change within my organization. My journey in the M.Ed. Applied Digital Learning program has not only equipped me with the tools and insights to thrive in today's digital world but it has also started a lifelong passion for transforming education through technology and leadership.
